What started with me wanting to work in nursing is a sad story but this is what has given me strength and passion for what I do.
When I was a child I was crossing a large road with my mum holding my hand. She suddenly collapsed in the middle of the road.
I felt fear, panic and despair seeing my mum laying unconscious until help arrived which felt as though it was taking forever.
From that point it was my goal and aim to care for people; and if I can’t cure someone then at least try to alleviate pain and bring a little hope in their life.
I graduated from nursing school in 2003 and my goal was to set up a domiciliary nursing service in Romania but legislation made it too difficult.
Life offered me some opportunities to work and develop my skills. I worked as a hospital nurse, within a GP practice, but I also managed a scrap yard and a construction company.
In 2015 I decided to make a change in my life and came to the UK, where I promised myself that I would never quit nursing ever again.
In June 2016 when I got my PIN number I have worked as a nurse in various establishments including nursing homes, NHS respiratory wards and NHS agency, community complex care nurse and district nurse.
When I was working as community complex care nurse I remembered my younger years when I wanted to set up my own home care business. This was triggered by the feeling of satisfaction when I saw that a young patient with MND was able to return and be cared for at home after couple months of hospitalisation. The feeling of joy seeing his reunion with his family was priceless.
I knew at that time that and promised myself that I wanted to be able to offer to others that joy that I witnessed , and I found the strength and motivation to start my own company.
Whilst not an easy road to have taken, I have never regretted the path I have taken.
I am passionate about nursing and I am happy that I can put my skills and knowledge in the service of community.
